also fuck you canon for selling a scanner that claims to be able to do 2400dpi but secretly has a hardware issue that skips four pixels every 1728 pixels that isn't documented anywhere that makes me extremely annoyed but nobody else seems to notice or care

Oh wow, that's absolutely tragic.
Here's, at least, a beautiful repair job done by @peachflavor3d.bsky.social

(My backlog has to redo the art scans at 2400dpi)

That is true, visually and physically.
My 600 and 1200dpi printers soften considerably, the book test print I got on smooth paper is at least 2400dpi and did not soften much. I have a new bible print, smooth paper and insanely sharp, the corners hold under a 10x magnifier.

I do 2400dpi normally, but when I used to play FPS I’d go to like…3000? Anything faster than that is just like slipping on ice every time I touch the mouse LOL

First time ever online: I'll upload the 2400dpi scans to IA when it's back up but I got the 3 color pages for the #zelda Link's Awakening manga by Ataru Cagiva scanned. It's amazing to have these because all the color pages are just in black & white in the collected volumes. G Fantasy June 1994

2400dpi??? Dang, I see 1200dpi on the regular and 1500-1800dpi on occasion but don't think I've ever seen something that blown up myself, and I can't really imagine they'd be actually printing at such density either

This iMac, btw, is proving to be incredibly useful. Scans take about ten minutes at 2400dpi. I set it, and can work in the living room, come back and reset the scanner on a new
