At the half-way point of 2025 I've recorded just 193mm of rain so far in my garden, and 80mm of that fell all the way back in January! I'd expect 290mm by now in an average year. Serious shortfall, especially with this heat.

Here is my image of Rima Hyginus, with Hyginus crater halfway along it (thats 11km wide and 800 m deep for scale). On the right is Rimae Triesnecker with the crater Triesnecker which is 25km wide. Taken with 190MN scope and 290MM cam #astrophotography #astrophoto #luna #moon

Keep in mind that well *before* crossing the #Queensland coast, #TCAlfred will be a Cat2 (at sea) then Cat1 (over land, FROM Sat AM) which produces constant winds around 63-88km/h, gusting up to 125km/h.

For those interested, here is the Australian Bureau of Meteorology's definition of Tropical Cyclone (TC) categories. #TCAlfred is currently a Cat2 TC with talk that it *may* lift to a Cat3 while still at sea (links next).
