This would give developers have access to twice the computing power while retaining backwards compatibility for all existing MISTer cores.
Because of this, more advanced cores like Dreamcast or 486DX are now potentially on the table.

But then we moved to SGIs so When I left I took a seat of 3DS R2 & a human male I made(.obj) For my fantasy epic portfolio. Here's a sample:

Tom Hudson (who made DEGAS/Elite) also made Cyber Sculpt & the 'Cyber Studio' family for the #AtariST, under Gary Yoss's Yoss Group. They went on to make Autodesk Studio Release 2. It evolved into 3ds Max, officially acquired & finally now #Autodesk #3DSMax. Still alive. Quite the #3D legacy legend.

flip thru a random ~1994 issue of PC Magazine or whatever & you will find that all but the absolute bottom tier PCs were already coming with cdrom drives by then. you could by a *33mhz 486dx* - the least Gamer computer possible in that year - and it would STILL come with a cdrom drive. pre-win95!!
