An existing mening vaccine, 4CMenB, includes part of the bacteria’s outer layer. The idea is that the two different bacteria have similar outer layers, so 4CMenB gives cross-protection

It's funny how the antivaxxers in charge of our vaccination policy claim to want to have our vaccine schedule to look like those of Europe, but then don't think about the fact that much of Europe does 4CMenB vaccination at 2-3 months, which often triggers fever and then forces a sepsis workup.

Yes some MenB vaccines show partial protection against gonorrhea. The signal is strongest for 4CMenB (Bexsero), an OMV-based MenB vaccine: multiple observational studies and reviews estimate roughly ~30–50% effectiveness against lab-confirmed gonorrhea.

Yes some MenB vaccines show partial protection against gonorrhea. The signal is strongest for 4CMenB (Bexsero), an OMV-based MenB vaccine: multiple observational studies and reviews estimate roughly ~30–50% effectiveness against lab-confirmed gonorrhea.
We've seen an increase in cases of mpox over recent months, but levels remain much lower than during the 2022 outbreak.
For those who are eligible, the mpox vaccine is available routinely along with other vaccines such as 4CMenB for gonorrhoea , HepA, HepB and HPV.
