That's 650k more Millers for Sal's tab.
The Milwaukee Police Department is estimating that 750,000 people attended the parade and rally. "Preliminary research shows this may have been the largest crowd for a single day event in state history."

On Russian war losses, the Economist has updated its estimates now saying as many as 2 million may be dead/wounded, with the minimum 1.4m

The subscription only site says minimum killed ranges from 374,000-770,000.
This concurs with my previous estimate of 600k-650k

Absolute bullshit. Home prices are through the roof here in NE Kansas. They're way ovevalued and property taxes are unbelievable. Down the road, there are developments of treeless tickytacky homes on small lots priced at $650K. Mortgage rates aren't the only problem.

I think if 1.9 million people vote early and then at least 1.2 million vote on election day, which is how many did in 2023 - turnouts about 84%.

Which means we need 650k to vote early W, T, F or 216k a day.

In 2023 they got 630k in the last 3 days. We've been ahead of them every day so far.

Didn't they want £650k ish for him as a permanent signing or did I dream that?

Point is that the demand to max out the building bulk probably declines pretty quickly from the area of highest demand right by the college. But right by the college? Selling your single family home for $300k over valuation, and $650k over purchase? That is some compensation for "having" to move

650k a year pays for a multi bedroom house literally everywhere but the Hamptons in one year. No down payment, you can pay it off that year. That family is RICH.

A few different scenarios for you about the election day vote:
- If it matches the decline in IPEV turnout (which I now forecast to be ~630-660k), then these are the numbers, roughly:
1.75 mil mail (78% of 24)
650k IPEV (53% of 24)
1.20 mil EDay (53% of 24)

7:16am, going into last two days of early voting, we are at 27.2% of the vote already in. 2,021,127.

Early in-person is 535,141 - 98,982 yesterday alone. (pop of the city of Detroit is 650k)

We haven't been doing this long enough to make sweeping judgments on comparisons, but damn. I'm impressed.

I live in the suburbs of a medium sized city in the deep south, houses in my neighborhood have increased ~160% ($250k-$650k) in the 15 years we’ve lived there. Our wages have kept pace with inflation over that time (~50%) and we couldn’t come close to affording our house if we were buying today
What Bluesky posters seemingly do not grasp is that MOST OF THE US POPULATION IS SUBURBAN.

Over half of America lives in a suburb. In major metros, 80%+ of people live in a suburb or exurb.

If you’re trying to understand the experience of average Americans, you’re talking about suburban trends.
No, what I actually say is that the experience of finding housing in the urban core of several metropolitan regions that, generously, contain 5% of the nation’s population, is not reflective of the housing experience of the other 315 million Americans.

2.4 million metro area. Although there's only 650k in border residents that also doesn't count the 3 million or so nonresidents that are there every month.

So smaller than LA, yeah, and more well known than probably any city in the country outside of the big 20, but still big!

The casualty figures (provided by Ukraine and largely verified visually and independently) include seriously wounded as well as deaths (classified as 200 on Russian army forms, where 300 is lightly wounded). It is likely that approx. 40% (650k) have died. Thanks to drones, fatalities now equal 65%.
