70 Up 🎬 In my opinion the ones who had to scrap more to make lives for themselves tried out more unique things and chapters of life. Jockey, children's librarian, extras actor, lay minister, member of council, foster carer. The rest seemed to get into law or teaching and stay there.

What an incredible sociological exercise ‘70 Up’ is and all its wonderful predecessors are. What a privilege for so many millions to share the life journeys of those involved. And how incredibly moving was this farewell to one of the most important documentaries ever made? Don’t miss it. #70up

Oof, what a heartbreakingly beautiful monument to the human condition.
We are thrown into worlds we didn't choose, then spend our life trying to navigate the beautiful, heavy weight of being alive.

Feeling strangely emotional after binge watching the 7UP series up to 70up
October 18, 2026 at 6:21 PM
The 7 up series got harder to watch each 7 years. I really doubted the ethics of these people having their lives led by a tv show. The programme seemed like a weight on their souls.

I don’t what I learnt from this experiment, but, particularly with Neil, it sure was depressing

Binged 70up in two days and I never expected I’d benefit from the parental view of things. That I’d truly feel parents always want the best for their children and they truly love their kids whatever life situation they’re in. But it’s hard to even decide how I feel about mine,

I've just finished watching 7Up-70Up: what an astonishing achievement in television.

That director Michael Apted didn't always get on with everybody speaks further to how genuine the show feels.

"Give me the child until he is 7 and I will give you the man" will remain debated for some time.

Now that we’ve had a chance to catch up with #70Up in this hemisphere
"Last night on ITVX, a boy brought up on a rural Yorkshire farm who became a nuclear fusion scientist spoke about his life, three days before his death." After the last episode of 70 Up, I woke up today with a fire in my belly desperate to review it and write about it...

Thank you for posting the article - it was a beautiful response to #70Up and all the emotions it brought to the surface. It was good to get some background and clarifications not given earlier in the series, and lovely to see Peter and Neil chatting together at the end.

Where the hell have MY 62 years gone? No regrets but just wish I could take back 20 of those years, just to have more time ……
