the problem is that, yknow, I can point to dudes like Ryan or orgs like the ACMT and AACT, but the fact is rank & file HCPs don’t call this shit out in public. either because they don’t wanna rock the boat or, in an alarming number of cases, they just accept it despite all contrary evidence

I went to the Broadview ICE detention center this afternoon/evening. The first 2 hours were pretty quiet. As an intro to IMFs, I did the Lavs Lamp demo today, and students asked really great questions! We followed it up with Modeling Molecular Polarity from AACT. They started making connections!

@jbwinters.bsky.social IMO it's fundamentally a mischaracterization of AACT to call it "an initiative of the Dow Chemical Company". Yes, they're a founding sponsor, sure, but you are basically cutting out the day-to-day operators, the American Chemical Society, the professional society for chemists.
