ActBlue should learn how to spell Mississippi.

Used his own email? Just donate 10 bucks to ActBlue with his email and he’ll never have a moment of peace again

November 8, 2026 at 2:23 PM

November 4, 2026 at 10:30 PM
To clarify: this IS via ActBlue. They’ve changed their policy (details at the link or in the thread).
November 7, 2026 at 6:42 PM
Do you work for ActBlue?
November 5, 2026 at 5:59 AM
Since I first hinted at this news here on BlueSky, I’ll cut to the chase:
November 7, 2026 at 6:21 PM
About time, I regret donating to ActBlue for that exact reason
November 7, 2026 at 10:41 PM
YESTERDAY, HOWEVER, ACTBLUE CONTACTED ME TO INFORM ME OF AN INCREDIBLY WELCOME NEW POLICY CHANGE!

Check out the new admin settings:
November 7, 2026 at 6:34 PM
I double checked with ActBlue support to make sure I understood the change, and the confirmed it:

“That's right! the NO setting for this feature on any page now means that donor email/phone numbers WILL NOT BE SHARED with the recipients listed on that page.”
November 7, 2026 at 6:36 PM
My understanding is it's not ActBlue itself that's the primary source of the spam these days, it's fundraising consultants using public disclosure data and matching it with data bought from other sources, so I'm deeply curious.
November 4, 2026 at 11:03 PM
ActBlue has long included a tool in the administration settings for every "tandem" (ie, slate) page which, *when enabled*, causes a popup window to appear during the checkout process which gives donors the *option* to choose not to share their email/phone number with the recipients.

From ActBlue.
November 8, 2026 at 2:19 AM
let's go
November 5, 2026 at 2:46 AM
UPDATE: I've started adding this note to all of my fundraising pages.
November 8, 2026 at 6:36 PM
sending apology texts to all those actblue phone numbers
November 4, 2026 at 5:58 AM
Two important caveats:

—This feature only appears to be available on slate pages (ie, pages with more than one recipient)

—It still has to be set to “no” by whoever administers the page

In other words, this is NOT a blanket change to every ActBlue page on the web.
November 7, 2026 at 6:39 PM
ActBlue sent be a post-election survey and I gave them a piece of my mind: if you’re sending genocide enablers to party leadership you ain’t getting my money.
November 5, 2026 at 8:26 PM
I suspect ActBlue also.
November 8, 2026 at 1:10 PM
Now the real work begins*

*Unsubscribing from every DCCC and ActBlue email list that I’ve ended up on
