Oh, even Su-22, with its 4-ton payload and...patchy safety record? (VVS/VKS retired all single-engine planes before 2000 for a reason.)

In hindsight, were any of the Su-7/17/20/22/MiG-27 ever worth it? If a contested environment only allows for ALCMs, a turretless Il-28 would do it way cheaper, no?

And yes, IRIAF F-4s and Su-24s and IRGCAF Su-22s all are capable of deploying ALCMs and ALBMs, I think there just aren't meaningful amounts produced and fielded. They also could have been deployed in limited amounts and we just don't know.

Learned today: the New START denuclearized 60-0060 B-52H (see, no external identifier fin) practiced loading nuclear ALCMs during Global Thunder ex in Oct 25 before treaty expired. If so, can’t wait to hear explanation.

Wild to see these missiles that were meant to be ALCMs but with another booster or SRM slapped on the end so they can get the award

Ideally you'd have something like 4 Common Rotary Launchers, of which BUFF carries one, giving 32 internal missiles plus 12 external on the midwing hardpoints carrying 6 each, for 38 ALCMs to the BUFF's 20.

A Collaborative Approach to Supporting Older Adults in Long Term Care Planning
Effective long-term care planning for older adults is most successful when approached through collaboration among Aging Life Care Managers® (ALCMs), Elder Law Attorneys, and Financial Planners. ALCMs provide critical, real-world insight into clients’ health, functional abilities, family dynamics, and the true costs of care, ensuring that care plans are both practical and financially sustainable. By integrating this perspective, attorneys can develop legally sound strategies that reflect a client’s cognitive and functional reality, while financial planners can create more accurate, adaptable projections for evolving care needs. This coordinated, interdisciplinary approach reduces crises, improves alignment between care, legal and financial decisions, and alleviates stress for the Older Adult and their families—ultimately supporting them in maintaining dignity, independence, and long-term security.

29/ I could, however, see HABs used as part of a multistage system to extend the range of stealthy ALCMs like Storm Shadow.

Indeed ALCMs were 3200 lb heavy, twice longer than AMRAAMs, definitely carrying around SM-6 missiles sounds more possible. Super Hornets tested them. And in modern combat it's possible to avoid getting hit by a Buk, if some S-300 is not too close.

Normally, Russia holds exercises of its nuclear forces in October. This one was in May, which is unusual. It included launches of Yars, Sineva, ALCMs, and Kinzhal, Tsirkon, Iskander. Website russianforces.org/blog/2026/05... or Substack open.substack.com/pub/russianf...

I really could never understand why Israel never pursued TBMs or long-range ALCMS. Relying on short-range strike-fighters overflying and refueling over hostile countries and dropping guided bombs just seems bizarre.

B-52s took off from the UK loaded with ALCMs about 7.5 hours ago.

Trump made his mind up a while ago.

The only way it stops is if he has dissent within ranks, in which case he'll purge those stopping him and try again.

Assembly of air delivered nuclear weapons (mating warheads to chassis) in the form of either nuclear gravity bombs or ALCMs would send up flags basically everywhere along the chain of command because it would be extraordinary behavior with obvious implications.

From there, the wheels turn automatically. For Iran, it would not be ICBMs (the idea of officers in silos turning keys) or SLBMs for worry of overflying other countries. The options for something like this are bombs or ALCMs from B-2s or B-52s, respectively. Both take a *lot* of time.

When I was in junior high there was much talk of cruise missiles - SLCMs, GLCMs, and ALCMs (though those last ended up being banned by SALT II). The pronunciation was “slick’em”, “glick’em”, and “alk’em”, and I recall that because some pop-sci magazine spelled them out that way in an article.

They sold Kh-55 ALCMs to Iran in *2001*, which were later reverse engineered into the Soumar family of GLCMs but those missiles are totally inconsistent with the video because they have an underslung engine
