ReSET drew on emotional and cognitive training, and key mechanisms of emotional processing and regulation.

But the team didn't know how these would work together.

This is where co-production came in.

This led to the hypothesis of the "emotional burden" faced by neurodivergent young people.

RE-STAR found that neurodivergent young people face roughly TWICE as many upsetting school experiences and respond with roughly double the emotional intensity compared to neurotypical peers. #AMHDMshowcase

The young people helped develop the intervention structure.

Initially, their goals for taking part, and their positive and negative influences.

They move on to discuss inter- and intra-personal strategies.

Then young people use these strategies to resolve issues.
