Flock is gleefully providing APLR data to the feds. Lots of cities have put up their cameras and plate readers everywhere overnight. It is truly a nightmare.

APLR and cell data was used but it didn't work for years. leave your phone at home and park more than a half mile away and you're basically home free

Cameras don’t look at race but the data can be cross applied to registered drivers. In the US Palantir specifically used data from APLR to help ICE plan raids so when thinking of the ‘why do they trigger culture war responses’ the general context of they can and are abused in some countries is why

There have been multiple instances of Waymo locking people in and calling the cops. Add that to the uptick in APLR and AI enhanced cameras everywhere building heat maps and profiles of people and DHS having a "predictive policing" model, etc etc. Not panic in the least.
