Two weeks ago today we welcomed over 1,000 delegates to #ASCL2025 for two superb days of high-quality CPD.

Here's a little look back at some of the images from the event. If you were there, we hope you had a great experience.

From where I am (Suffolk, far from Liverpool), #ASCL2025 has felt brilliant - setting the education news agenda; talking about what matters (curriculum, inspection, funding, SEND), and doing it all in a characteristically thoughtful, constructive @ascl-uk.bsky.social tone. Bravo to the whole team.
The theme of the @ascl-uk.bsky.social #ASCL2025 conference was A Brighter Future. I leave today equipped with motivation, optimism and hope! Thank you for reigniting that fire of passion. #TogerherStronger @pepediiasio.bsky.social @mannybotwe.bsky.social

Thank you @lewisgoodall.com for sharing your thoughts and experiences at #ASCL2025 today, by reflecting on your own education through its 'golden age' @ascl-uk.bsky.social coupled with light humour it was a perfect end to an incredible two days! (Though the thought of #UncleDerek was a bit scary 😀)!

Gregg’s sausage rolls, awkward silences & villains: all the @tesmagazine.bsky.social stories from #ASCL2025 in 1 thread.

First up: @cerysturner.bsky.social interviewed Ascl gen sec @pepediiasio.bsky.social who warned planned Ofsted reforms would effectively kill off Labour's 6,500 teachers pledge.
Ofsted plans will ‘sledgehammer’ teacher recruitment, warns ASCL
Speaking to Tes as ASCL’s annual conference begins, general secretary Pepe Di’Iasio issues a warning about Ofsted’s inspection changes and calls on the government to ‘show the money’ for its pledge to...

I will definitely be looking into this. 👍🏽

A great talk earlier @ascl-uk.bsky.social #ASCL2025 around the need to put inclusion front and centre- a part of the overall system not just an add on. Bravo, bravo, bravo

@lewisgoodall.com was excellent as #ascl2025 's last speaker - really profound, reminding us that class is still alive and well and that we need to fight tooth and nail for the most disadvantaged children

A powerful start to the day with the Chair of the Curriculum & Assessment Review @beckyfrancis.bsky.social sharing the next phase of work and publishing the final report 👇🏽 #ASCL2025

"It is you, the people on the ground working day in, day out with young people that make a difference."

ASCL President Manny Botwe has now brought #ASCL2025 to a close.

Thank you to all involved in this fantastic event and have a safe journey home.

Thank you @lewisgoodall.com for sharing your reflections at #ASCL2025 on your own education through its 'golden age', and the work you continue to do to highlight the need for investment in children and young people.

Well said, @tomrees.bsky.social speaking at @ascl-uk.bsky.social #ASCL2025: "I would like to see a world where we can retire the label of SEND".
Dead right. It's about giving the dignity of achievement to all young people: schoolsweek.co.uk/id-like-to-s...
'I'd like to see SEND label retired' says inclusion tsar
Tom Rees also spoke of problems with the current 'medicalised model' of SEND support

Sam Freedman at #ASCL2025: government departments must "tell the story" with policies - education leaders won't know what is expected of them or what the government is aiming for if the narrative isn't clear. It is unusual for there to be no white paper for the Children's Wellbeing and Schools Bill.
March 15, 2025 at 2:58 PM
Fascinating - and at times alarming - to hear from @samfr.bsky.social on how government operates, navigating policymaking to fit the media cycle, hyper-centralisation, and executive control.
