I pressed a Minister on it's importance. While he agreed that a 5% breakdown rate is too high, he failed to recognise the crucial role the ASGSF plays.

Disappointed that Labour MPs voted against increasing the #ASGSF tonight. We are told tough choices need to be made, but the Department for Education spent nearly £50m on ads last year—up £15m in two years. Halving that could restore vital therapeutic support for thousands of children.

And cut the assessment fund from £2k to £0k, so now you can guess what therapy the child needs. They haven't cut the ASGSF by 40%, they've cut it by 60%. And they did it two weeks after the previous year's budget ended, creating total chaos. Top ups for severely disabled children - also gone.
