I've been saying this for a while... hopefully international conference organisers will consider where they're hosting or allow for hybrid participation.
That said, online conference fees are hilariously astronomical and unrealistic.

Taking annual leave next week, but no rest for the weary. I can't believe I have appointments and meetings every darned day! --eyes, dentist, MOT and servicing, requiring two trips to Eastbourne, and maybe the vet etc. etc. I really just want to write my conference paper. #AcademicProblems

Why didn't I compose my email in Word before pasting it into Gmail??? Argh! I was in the middle of a long email giving feedback, and Gmail decided to log me out and it didn't save most of the message Dammit!!! Herein lies some of our productivity problems. Tech issues!! #AcademicProblems.

Wondering if I should go back to the old-fashioned notecard system for taking research notes. Main problem I had before is too many index cards and nowhere to store them in a house w/o storage. Plus I haven't been able to find decent card boxes in the UK. So hmmm! #AcademicProblems

In response to student wellbeing concerns, my uni has overhauled its procedures re extenuating circumstances affecting assessment. But it's butchered the process, causing endless stress to staff and students. Ugh.
