We caught up with the second half of the Championship 2 clash at Roughfort between Academy and Lisburn on Saturday afternoon. By the time we caught up with this one Academy were leading 15 - 13 at half time, Lisburn burrowing over for a score at the end of the half.

We caught up with first half of the Regional East clash between Academy and Cooke 3rd XV's on Saturday afternoon at Roughfort. I was quite surprised to hear the final score of 76 - 10 in this one as the first half was fairly competitive. Academy had a definite edge but Cooke also had their moments.

We caught up with this season's, opening week, Championship 2 fixture between Carrickfergus and Academy at Tom Simms Memorial Park on a damp Saturday afternoon. The constant drizzle and sometimes heavy rain together with a gusting wind ensured a scrappy start to the opening league fixture. Carrick's Ryan McGonigle powers to the line for the opening score. Carrick got their act together the quickest and David Carse came close to opening the scoring only to knock on as he trued to gather a loose ball.

I caught up with the School/Club Window U16 Blitz at Academy RFC, Roughfort, early Saturday morning. The competition featured Teams from Academy (2), Ards, Belfast Harlequins, BHSFP, CIYMS, Lisburn and Randalstown which was broken down into 2 pools of four teams for the pool round robin stage. There was a final playoff round where 1A played 1B, 2A played 2B etc.

We caught up with the Championship 2 match between Academy and CIYMS at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon. This was an entertaining game between two sides who know each other well. Despite CI looking for a win to stay top of Championship 2 and Academy looking for the win to avoid slipping into the relegation dogfight there was not a lot between the two teams on the day.

We caught up with the McCrea Cup quarter final between Academy and City of Armagh 2XV at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon. Academy were first to put points on the board with a couple of early penalties, successfully scored by Michael Wilson, for a 6 - 0 lead

We caught up with the McCambley Cup match between Academy 3XV and Randalstown 3XV at Roughfort on Saturday afternoon. In a very even match, it was the home side who got off to a great start when scrum half, Chris Cooper went over early on, converting his own try to put Academy in front 7 - 0.

We caught up with the McCrea Cup match between Academy and Malone 2XV at a dark and foggy Roughfort on Saturday afternoon. Academy got off to a great start with scrum half, Conor Spence bursting through to put the first points on the scoresheet with No 10, Michael Wilson adding the conversion to take the score to 7 - 0.

I caught up with the Championship 2 league match between Carrick and Academy at a cold and windy Tom Simms Park on Saturday afternoon. I thought I'd give it a go sitting at the end the wind was blowing towards to catch the bulk of the action but as it turned out both teams defended well against the elements and most of the action was at the top end of the pitch.
