Keep in mind these are accelerometer based so this could be an understatement

On a related note, just in case you wanted to switch away from Chrome, Firefox has a feature on mobile where if you shake the device the accelerometer detects it and it rewrites the whole page you're looking at with the AI. "Map activation to something you'll do by accident" is a consistent pattern

You'd think every single smartmeter could be a useful addition, they all have antitamper now and aren't those all based on COTS accelerometer/gyro chips?

Almost certainly a buzzword. I saw a bicycle tail-light advertised as being "AI POWERED" - but on closer inspection, the "AI" is just an accelerometer that triggers the light to blink when you're slowing down.

That's a finite state machine.

Ooooh, there was a new PinOne board announced! They added a better accelerometer with velocity output. Better support for VPX nudge, interesting.

OH NO! My boulder rolled down the hill!

Brain: You know, you might be able to get a velocity sensor working if you hook up your phone via usb and use ITS accelerometer.

Me: No... no, don't give me that thought. I wasn't gonna tinker today.

Brain: You're gonna tinker today.

Experiment unsuccessful! I got the accelerometer communicating with vpx, but it was too all over the place to work correctly with the rest of my hardware. Could maybe get it in a better shape with a lot of work, but it aint worth it.

BUT, having said that, using a V-sensor might actually be sick 👀

Yeah, I'll agree with that. The Wii's IR pointer stuff pretty much always worked great, but I've always considered that functionality separate from the gyroscopic/accelerometer based waggle stuff, which developers didn't always get right...

Any shock in the gyro can trigger it, especially if you started walking really quickly.

It tries to capture what the accelerometer might see if someone snatched your phone and started booking it.

Not 100% on how good a spectral analysis can be on gyroscope/accelerometer data but it can't be that bad right

I love hardware badges but don't usually have the time to hack on them but I had fun trying out the @github.com Copilot app to build a little game for my Universe badge, using its built-in accelerometer and gyroscope for tilt controls.
