I have new glasses with a new prescription & they make me feel like an Oompah-Loompah. Not because of how they make me look (!) but because they make me feel about two feet shorter. Just tried playing tennis in them to speed up the acclimatisation process…

I am starting to understand that the weed problem in NZ is actually actually really bad. I'm looking at you acclimatisation societies of the past, for bringing in crap like old man's beard, woolly nightshade, climbing asparagus, banana passionfruit, gorse, broom, wild ginger, and tradescantia.
Also worth saying Wiegman reinstated the U21 side when she took over and forged much closer links to the junior sides. Agyemang's rapid acclimatisation to the senior team is, I think, a major tangible reward from that work.

You can see the Icefall is between base camp and Camp One. Most outside climbers will go through it like 6-7 times per summit attempt (you can see a sample ascent plan here: everestexpedition.co.uk/mount-everes... ) but only one way at a time. The Sherpas need to make hundreds of trips through it.

I have always been fascinated by the role of these types of organisations in colonising our taiao since i found a record book detailing all the eels that were killed as part of early acclimatisation societies (later to become fish and game)
