“There is a space between seeing and making that cannot be closed.”

Photography as something partial, and something ongoing.

Looking forward to sharing the results of the ongoing visual dialogue between Rhea Banker and myself. This time, our focus is on the short walk from the shore at Mallaig Bheag to the bay at Mallaig Mhor.

Storm Amy didn't quite stop all automotive spotting while up in Scotland at the weekend.

Magnificent early Legacy estate in Acharacle, a purple Vellfire and a selection of shite in Fort William (GTE SE6, Reliant Fox camper and an Omega) and an Alfa specifically for @talesofanalfa.bsky.social

A challenging weekend in Scotland. Arrived in Acharacle Thursday afternoon, Storm Amy hit on Friday, power and phone connections both went out Friday evening. Went out Saturday morning: what a mess.

Not quite the weekend we were aiming for but we managed with candles, Scotch pies, beer and whisky.

Floating in Gold - Loch Shiel, Acharacle, #Ardnamurchan

On a perfectly still Spring evening, this fishing boat on Loch Shiel appeared to be floating in gold. A sublime sight indeed.

The light the other night was perfect for the reflection of this bridge near Acharacle, Ardnamurchan.

Jetty Lights - Loch Shiel Jetty, Acharacle, #Ardnamurchan

On a late November evening, the glow of distant Northern Lights in the sky well beyond the hills of Moidart casts shades of green on the waters of Loch Shiel.

Looking for peace and calm in the middle of the week. You have probably seen one end of Loch Shiel where the Glenfinnan monument and viaduct are. This is the peace and balance at the other end at Acharacle. #Scotland #Photography #LochShiel #Acharacle #Ardnamurchan #Calm #Lochs #boat

One of my favourite images from 2025, taken on a visit to Acharacle on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula, Scotland.
The Old Sheil Bridge that marks the boundary between the Moidart and Ardnamurchan parishes, the tidal current that runs under the bridge is quite Phenomenal,
