the corollary to this is that i DO NOT think it is a surprise in any capacity that the majority of my interest in personal athleticism dipped heavily during puberty but has since come back many years into transition given how much sports involves awareness of yourself and your body. it's all related
the continual assault on the right of trans people to participate in sports, one of the oldest forms of social connection and engagement that entails athletic attunement with your body, only makes me want to do more. they don't want me to have ownership over myself? fuck 'em. sports are transgender.
