And as an addendum, I have to say that I don't get great news from common national sources (e.g. CNN) because they're so often built into the propaganda system, which is why professional journalists (e.g. @gillianbrockell.com) on Bluesky are so often my go-to.

I’ll make a slight addendum to this because the OP is mostly describing Federal/major state offices.
If you’re a bluesky poster wondering about getting involved, I ran for local municipal office and it’s worlds different. Way less fundraising, far less campaigning.

Running for competitive office is one of the worst white collar professional experiences that it is possible to have. People who do not have either sincere convictions and/or some form of mental illness do not do it.
I try to be fairly open-minded but if you sincerely believe that a person who has chosen to spend months of 18-hour days running for electoral office doesn’t care if they win that office: you’re just dumb. Your brain don’t work. Your thoughts are bad.

Addendum to the sophomore-senior point- freshmen are omitted from this. I think 9th grade is too transitional from child to teen still. Like its too old to intermingle with 12-13 year olds but still too young to be exposed to 18 year olds imo.

Been loving the Space Bug model @selaaaaaa.bsky.social made for me. So easy to set up slightly complicated poses for the little menace without them going all looney toons and/or taking three hours of sketching to get looking right. Absolutely a life saver for a four-armed character.
