#Adephaga
It looks like Adephaga is a suborder (group, as in Kingdom Phylum Class etc) of beetles. Wikipedia says it derives from the Greek word for gluttonous. Maybe meaning “all eating”

Ground and Water Beetles (Suborder Adephaga)
The Adephaga (from Greek ἀδηφάγος, adephagos, 'gluttonous'), with more than 40,000 recorded species in 10 families, are a suborder of highly specialized beetles and the second-largest suborder of the ...

It’s not actual wordsmithing, but keying off the order of beetles, Adephaga (“gluttonous”). Webster says the “ade” in that comes from “hadēn” (enough)

Carabidae beetles: Coleoptera, Adephaga, Caraboidea. 40k+ species, predatory or omnivorous, soil dwellers. Subfamilies Carabinae (bombardier beetles, spray hot chemicals), Harpalinae (often seed-eaters), Cicindelinae (“tiger” beetles). Important for natural and agricultural pest control. Science🧪

This lets us infer the most complete tree of Adephaga to date, using genomes, anchored hybrid enrichment, and two different kinds of UCE probe sets (the Coleoptera UCE and Adephaga UCE). And noting the bias of water beetles, we publisehd a new Geadephaga specific probe set.

I realized I never shared this here. The first chapter of my PhD thesis came out in June! In brief, we used diverse publicly available data and refined locus recovery for target capture methods (both UCE and exon capture!) and used novel phylogenetic approaches.
