Time for some articles on the GOP's difficulty reaching men. Does it need a new model of masculinity? Can it offer something beyond aggrieved perpetual adolescence?

Bring on the think pieces!
Seven in 10 men ages 18 to 29 now disapprove of Trump’s job performance, according to an analysis of the final three New York Times/Siena University national polls.

We Called Back Young Men Who Voted for Trump. He’s Losing Them.
Young men no longer favor Republicans, new Times/Siena data shows. We asked them why.

Oh for fucks sake, about the only difference in male/female skulls is jaw size due to testosterone during adolescence...

How absolutely wonderful to spend this Hallowe’en with Jenny and @ramseycampbell.bsky.social, one of the literary monoliths of my adolescence…

Whoever wrote this is clearly too young to have spent their adolescence listening to guys (it was *always* guys) endlessly play you Stairway to Heaven while explaining why it was in fact the best song ever written.
Gun to your head, name a song that’s over 6 minutes long.

Happy birthday, Katharine Isabelle (11/2/81)

In GINGER SNAPS (2000), headlined a rare female driven story about family, adolescence, alienation & lycanthropy. Canadian film is now horror classic thanks to unique perspective.

Has done tons, including BACKROOMS (26), but GS still rocks.

Obviously much of Millennial adolescence was cringe (as most adolescence is) but some musical context:

Stomp-Clap-Hey music was a reaction to rock like The Strokes hiding under a cool image. Cringe is radical earnestness which felt gutsier and more punk rock than the artifice that preceded it.
Lmao Gen Z are dressing as Millenial Optimism for Halloween

looking back on my healthy romantic relationships in my adolescence and there's a very strong theme of "good sense of humor, treat me with respect and love"

Local white woman's supernaturally privileged adolescence skews her perspective of love; treats lovers, family, and pets with nearly the exact same sort of cloying, lustful coddling.

This off-screen individual seems to be putting up with her "innocent" eagerness to please well enough, though.

I remember crashing out so hard watching the final episode that I put on Adolescence immediately just to see them together. Also if you haven't, watch Adolescence of Utena, it's hands-down my favorite part of the series

Sonic as a franchise always changed little by little as I grew up and it tended to change in ways that I changed like Sonic 1 to Adventure feeling like going into a rebellious adolescence it felt fresh and relatable, Sonic never kept growing, more like it kept reinventing itself since unleashed

Thinking you're queer is not a path to ruin. Might you snog someone you later disdain? Get tediously single-minded about a couple of activities and issues? Yes, that is nearly every adolescence!

I watched Adolescence yesterday and I’m still completely floored by it

On-brand from his adolescence, then.

Clearly Dort is going through something right now, and lacks the emotional intelligence to recognise sometimes marriages don’t work out and that is more likely to happen if you haven’t emotionally matured past adolescence and haven’t yet realised you’re not the main character of the universe.

Stick around after the feature for an interview with @margaret.bsky.social about adolescence, wandering around in the foods, and weird supernatural shit.
