oh those are gorgeous!!! What lovely compositional work! Super agree on the coral. Also happy to see someone else who works in aesprite! It's always seemed pretty natural.

This is something I've been playing with lately. I put together some of my #isometric sprites into one piece just to see what it would look like. It's fun, lol! I still have work to do on my tilesets though. And that's ok😁✏️ #pixelart #piskel #aesprite

You're in luck, we've got a whole channel on our discord dedicated to just that! Personally I use GIMP, but there's lots of other alternatives like AEsprite or paint.net, most of which are free or at least very cheap.

I hope that Heos on Itch is a wonka and not an AI-slopa because that user has legit made so many awesome aesprite plugins and apps in so little time that if this person legit coded it all...then that is awesome!

Using placeholder assets from a store and the 2D assets either face left or right, which I then have to fix in aesprite or setup the Sprite to a negative scale in engine. Reminds me of getting 3d assets from an online store, which are all over the place. We need a standard. #gamedev #indiedev

I removed a lot of the old assets as I was dissatisfied, and started focusing heavily on the game feel and the loop.

No stream today while I rest up n get betters x3 so been trying out pixel art for the first time! Aesprite is fun to work with, gonna make a lot of rough animations xD I've really missed doing drawn animation ;o;

Funny thing...I recorded a video showing my thought process when making top-down sprites and realized there was NO audio, lol! No voice, no background music, lol. Nothing! I'll have to timelapse it with a voiceover now. I refuse to trash it🤣 #pixelart #aesprite #chillhop #rookie #mistake

If the only way you can produce something for a retro system is to use the latest planet-destroying plagiarism machine then maybe...don't?
If you need modern tools (and hey I do, I just don't touch Ai), develop with modern tools. I use Godot and Aesprite. It's all available, don't settle for slop.
