If an aged person has a recorded diagnosis of dementia, an automatic system should be in place in every aged care facility to automatically facilitate their Doctor to complete AEC Form removing that person from the roll.

That system was in place in the public sector aged care facilities.

The day after my brother passed in a Cleveland aged care facility, we had to clear out his belongings.

I went through his wallet and noticed his debit card was missing. As he laid dying, they went on a shopping spree until credit ran out. Such a cruel act. 😢

Some good news
My dad’s villa unit in Sydney went online for sale on Wednesday and there’s been an offer put in already that is what he wanted and will cover his aged care deposit plus more for the extra fees as he’s in a ‘business class’ part of the facility

It's interesting how the US Capitol Building is the world's most expensive aged care facility, but Australian parliament has never really had that problem (except our Senate in and around the 1930s). "Elder statesmen" types here get necked internally when it's time for the glue factory.

I don’t think his piece was about that but about the fact he & his wife don’t want to or need to move into a retirement village, which is somewhat different to an aged care facility. They may well have plans for that should the need arise.
