My takeaway was: How are we not letting a history of situations that killed and maimed LOTS until we smartened up and added better safeties tell us that that we don't have to wait until AI kills and maims tons of ppl before we make it safe for the public?

It also feels like it will soon serve as a case study on how AI can flood an information environment with garbage and make that environment useless if steps are not taken to remove the "fast" or "cheap" element, 'cause the "good" is going to be scant once the AI hose opens up.

Yet another study showing that AI is bad for knowledge and bad for learning processes (without even getting into the many ways it's bad for the environment, morals, legality, etc. etc. etc.)
