Highway conditions in central Alberta are expected to be hazardous Thursday and Friday as the area is forecasted to get 15 to 20 centimetres of snow.

A dramatic shift in weather patterns is expected to hit Alberta, marking the end of a notably wet July, as Environment Canada issues a special weather statement predicting temperatures will soar into the low 30s across much of the province, triggering heat warnings and prompting extreme precautions to be taken by residents, particularly vulnerable individuals, as wildfires and electricity demand are also anticipated to surge during this prolonged heat event.
