It's like the sun peeking from behind the clouds when she finds her confidence - all shy at first, but it soon turns to full glory. 🌞 I also love how his friends & family accept her into the fold. Yes, it's slightly forbidden because of the relationship between their siblings & not completely smooth sailing. It's put out there, but it isn't really pressed upon, which I like. There's also the kismet piece of them sharing a God child. Love that! -- Book quote 'I don’t trust myself where that woman is concerned. Not even a little. One taste and I’d be fucked. She’d carve herself even deeper into me than she already is and then what?' -- Knox McNichols There are a couple of questions that I have related to Dakota that I feel aren't fully answered, but it's nothing that impacts my enjoyment of the overall story. I nearly forgot to mention Evelyn & Hugh. I love where this little side project that has pieces woven into every book in the series is going. I mean, there were things to do, and I couldn't turn it off, so I had to skim through a good chunk of the book to catch up to the audio. So. Worth. It. Sydney and Travis are cute and funny. I love the goofing and teasing. Their friends and family only add to the shenanigans. 😍 I laughed, cried, and was riled up, and not necessarily in that order. There is a third act breakup. I like how Sydney puts everything out there as a way of trying to cope. And as much as I might not like how that part ends, I do like where it leads. I read along with the audio book. The narrators are Heather Firth and Alex Knox. A time or two, the emotions expressed didn't match the context, but the majority of the time, they were spot on and well delivered. I really enjoyed listening to the book.
