'Alpine glow' is an infrequent occurrence when the setting sun strikes the mountain after the valley is already in shadow. It is a joyous sight! I was lucky enough to have a film camera in the car when this scene occurred near Sherwood, Oregon in 2005. #MtHood #AlpineGlow

Hiked around some good rocks this morning 🏜
Striations of red rock sandstone cut across the landscape at varied angles in front of the Pine Valley Mountain range. It's sunrise, and soft pinkish-orange alpineglow is lighting up the rocks and making them look even more vibrant. Soft clouds in shades of pink grey and purple are spread across the sky with just a bit of blue peeking out.
