My prediction: within the next decade, Europeans will be flying to #Syria for their summer vacations. Mediterranean beaches, luxury resorts, ancient cities, great food — and a country rebuilt after years of war. Syria’s tourism potential is enormous!

Like, why wouldn't they claim Syria or Arabia or any of the other empires or kingdoms that died out in that region? It makes as much sense as claiming Israel of ancient times.

Arabs have about a 1500 year history in the region, unless you're also counting Arabia and Syria as the region. That doesn't diminish Palestinians' claim to a homeland there, but I think it's weird that people keep insisting that their history there is contemporaneous with the ancient Israelites.

Incorrect. In Egypt the Stone called Merneptah Stele, in Cairo which is the Museum of History in Egypt the Stone says otherwise.
So does the Smithsonian.

They are Arabs. There was NEVER a country or a State ever called palestine. NOTHING in the history books or museums mentions it in 1200 either.
