In my reporting on the anti-trans attacks on schools for this season’s #AntiTransHateMachine I stumbled across January 6 insurrectionists who believe that there’s a traitorous conspiracy which uses trans kids, and who want to declare martial law. Vic Mellor is one of them.
In the new season of Anti-Trans Hate Machine, @imarajones.bsky.social traveled to FL to explore the interest that January 6 insurrectionists have in local education races, motivated by anti-trans politics. In June, she sat down with Vic Mellor, a far-right activist who breached the Capitol.

I and my colleagues @translash.org have detailed this for six years through the #AntiTransHateMachine podcast series. The fact that no one at the paper put on a pair of headphones to listen to it, so that they could report this story accurately, is astounding.
