In case you're unaware, corporate medicine is on trial in Oregon right now. Eugene Emergency Physicians have sued Peace Health and ApolloMD for violating the state's corporate medicine law by awarding the ER contract an out of state corporation, ie ApolloMD. “SB 951 has already thwarted a proposed deal in Oregon. PeaceHealth abandoned a plan to outsource emergency room staffing at three of its hospitals to Atlanta-based ApolloMD after a lawsuit alleged the deal violated the new law.
