Greetings Finders, it's time for the penultimate episode of Drift Lanes to Distant Worlds. Today we head to strange Apostae, a small rock with an unassuming surface. But deep within are strange secrets, and a radically different future. Come see what's inside with me

When planning a vacation to Apostae... Don't actually go to Apostae.

With only one city, a huge variety of dangerous unpredictable magical and technological devices, and, you know, the drow, it's a really shitty place to try to relax.

Great place for shady arms deals, though.

Apostae drow enjoy teaching their children distrust by teaching them how airlocks work before telling them that their armor contains environmental protection.

Yes! This makes me so happy. I didn’t care much about losing Drow in Pathfinder, but the concept of Apostae and the elven/orcish cultures in the planet delighted me so much when Starfinder first came out. And getting a lore-ification about how they got there is also fantastic!

In terms of sports hooliganery, Apostae brutsris fans are generally the most well-armed, but Veskarium gladiator fans are the most feared.

Parabolas players, even with the overlapping historical recreation element, are considered slightly less threatening than Golarion World LARPers.

This week, changes are coming the dark elves of Starfinder. We look at what that means, and examples from other Scifi/Sci-Fantasy settings.

Oh wait shit can we say Drow any more? "Cavern Elves?" Until 2E comes out and talks about Apostae... 🤷

Must-haves for your Apostae vacation:

- knowledge of common Abyssal phrases ("I'm going to kill you," "I will wear your skin like a veil," etc.)
- many MREs (for underground tunnel exploration)
- pop academic history book on theories on the Nightarch
- a reliable exit strategy

My dream -Finder AP:

The year is 4725. Twelve years after the Worldwound was closed, a new portal to the Outer Rifts opens in Numeria.

The year is 325 AG. A portal to the Outer Rifts opens on Apostae.

Um, what happened to Liavara, Bretheda, and Apostae?

Apostae is my fav planet because that‘s where my first Starfinder character comes from! And also the whole concept of living on a basically dead planet is pretty cool

Apostae because that's when the Parts Harvesters really make their overtime

Apostae gets some great updates and reference material, not the least of which is about its primary inhabitants. I will *always* look back on "A Night in Nightarch" with great fondness and am definitely gonna run a version converted into #Starfinder2e when I get the chance.

To be fair, Apostae and the late, great Aucturn were not naturally formed.

Great little snippets about the Pact Worlds right off the bat in the table of contents pages, including the reveal of what's going on with the inhabitants of Apostae, and some more about that planet that was news to me! 👀 Guess I missed something about it if it was published for first edition. 😅

#starfinder the Urgathoa rabbit hole led to discovery of outer rifts qlippoths, demons, riders and the gates of Apostae

Which led me to the demon lord Zevgavizeb and his relationship to an as yet non cannonical demon lord of slimes

and how all that relates to . . . oh that might be spoilery

Look. I know it’s “Apostae” elves, but in my head they are all apostate. They have renounced elfhood. The second “T” got dropped for the planet name in some sort of V’ger situation. My fanfic brain is making whirring dial-up noises.

Another Starfinder NPC. She's a talented drow technomancer that got a scholarship to study at the best school on Apostae. Too bad for her their society is neutral evil and she ended up leaving the school with a degree and PTSD that she thinks of as just personal weakness. She's a paranoid hider.

Little Skit accesses the Nightarch portal on Apostae during a millenial solar alignment where it activates and turns out to be connected to the alternate reality of pre-Gap Golarion.

Of course some <OGL-redacted> locals follow through before it deactivates.

Starfinder: Afterlight Reveals the Minister of Flesh
Starfinder: Afterlight Reveals the Minister of Flesh
Epictellers Entertainment released a new character reveal trailer for its upcoming cRPG Starfinder: Afterlight. The latest video introduces Velkan Droth, a villain known as the Minister of Flesh. Acting as the primary antagonist for the game's first two acts and voiced by Christopher Tester, Velkan is an Azrinaran Elf from Apostae who works for a powerful patron and lures players into his elaborate and sadistic games. He has a traumatic past and twisted beliefs, and kills his target in elaborate ways at the behest of a voice only he can hear, being particularly fixated on companion character Sterling. Starfinder: Afterlight is set in Paizo’s Starfinder tabletop RPG universe and is planned to release on Early Access for PC later this year. The game features turn-based combat based on the rules of Starfinder Second Edition. It lets players assemble and lead a crew of misfits, each with their own stories and moral dilemmas. They venture into the Pact Worlds, discovering cosmic wonders and facing a threat that looms over the entire galaxy, with the game billed as featuring a branching narrative with hundreds of unique paths based on the player’s choices.   The post Starfinder: Afterlight Reveals the Minister of Flesh appeared first on RPGamer.
