Another friendly reminder that appeasement doesn't work. Being "one of the good ones" and excluding those that you think are less palatable won't make them like you.

I think this thread hints to why truly unashamedly kinky/sex-positive spaces always feel inherently queer even though queer people certainly don't have a monopoly on being kinky/horny: any hedging on those feelings and words is appeasement to the heteronormative "low profile" for anything about sex.
It's not the same exactly, but I feel like the focus on using language like chubby, plus size, "bigger" rather than big, etc, to soften the offence or shock of words like fat
Is a bit like when people are very uncomfortable with words like erotica or porn, and insist on words like spice, heat, etc
