An easily my favourite, the German Archive for Diaries, Emmendingen. (first and top floor).

I asked, and you can get beer and cheese right outside, yes.

A gorgeous German building. The ground floor has arched windows and is painted light blue. The first flour has square windows and is painted very pale yellow, flowers tumble from window boxes. The Top floor and roof are both tiled, there are little attic windows with pointed tops. A bell tower crowns the building with a clock on the side. On the square in front are people enjoying food and drink at tables with parasols.

The charming entrance to the Tamil Nadu Archives in Chennai/Madras. Here you see a notice board that is updated with a new poem everyday! #ArchiveGoals #ArchiveHour

A doorway in a brick wall that is painted reddish brown. A sign above the door reads 'Madras Record Office 1909'. A white board to the left of the door has writing on it.

The largest vertical filing system in the world, at the Central Social Institution of Prague.

The workers sit in electrical elevator desks which would transport them to the required drawers.

Beautiful!
a floor to ceiling wall of filing cabinets, a perfect grid. In front of it are pulley based systems and attached to that three desk cubicles. The ceiling and windows are also grids.

My own personal #ArchiveGoals? Just to get to the bottom of my to-do list, but I feel like someone keeps moving the goalposts on that one! #Archive30

Our #ArchiveGoals for the service this year are to open a new large searchroom space to the public, replacing the searchroom we moved out of last year. Work should be starting fairly soon, so watch this space for more news! #Archive30
