This was such a cute little caterpillar (on the left) seen crawling across a path getting close to the grassy edge.
I looked up how this fuzzy creature will grow wings and fly as a Spotted Tussock Moth when the metamorphosis is done. 🫶🏼

Lophocampa maculata, the Yellow-spotted tussock moth, mottled tiger or spotted halisidota, is a moth of the family Erebidae and the tribe Arctiini, the tiger moths. The species was first described by Thaddeus William Harris in 1841. It is found across Canada, the western parts of the United States, south in the Appalachians to South Carolina and Kentucky. They are also found in Southeastern Alaska. Pequena lagarta, toda preta, com espinhos espalhados ao longo de todo o seu corpo e cabeça. A lagartinha está em uma parede pintada de branco, com algumas sujeiras e um traço que pode ter sido feito por algum outro animal (talvez uma lagartixa).
