"Doc it's just.. it's uh down toward the uh, *cough...* eh-hem."
"Ah I see, near your um... eh-hem... right... Ive seen these before. Called, well, eh-hem-aroids. So.. yes... stick these up your... eh-hem.. twice a day. and eat more fiber."

I love this article. It explains often overlooked or misunderstood issues about the mix you use!

Meet the Aroids! 🌿

Foliage plants bring texture, character, and vibrant natural beauty to any garden.

Check out how beautiful these Aroids look. These plants make the outdoor space look filled and, at the same time, attractive.

Which Aroid would you add to your garden?

My rhapidophora tetrasperma (colloquially known as a mini monstera, not actually monstera, but they’re both aroids) is working very hard to take over my art studio lmao

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore my monstera albo, and I love all my various monsteras (of varying cultivars and species), but honestly, alocasias and anthuriums have surpassed monsteras as my favourite aroids. Also a big fan of scindapsus and pothos

I can’t remember what else I got from her, but as per usual, the trend is clearly aroids. Listen, aroids of most kinds are just generally easy to care for, and they’re all so pretty and so different! I wouldn’t recommend alocasias or anthuriums to beginners, but most aroids are beginner friendly

the international aroids society has their conference this weekend in Miami and I am sad I cannot go and see all of my favorite plant sellers and pals

that's the whole post

Sure. What do you wanna know? I'm big into aroids, namely anthurium, and some philodendron. I'm worried for when they get big what I'll do considering I just have my room for now and the lottery win isn't happening 😒😅

Firstly, 10/10 for your title!

Aroids here. Carnivorous ones feel daunting, not sure i can give them a happy environment here. I love my anthuriums most.

That’s my go-to! Usually aroids and carnivores

Most aroids can handle underwatering just fine; They’ll just go a bit limp, and you’ll go “oh right” and water them. Anthuriums though, in my experience, don’t actually give you any outward signs of being thirsty until they go a bit crispy. Gotta wodder them,,,

Something to note about anthuriums (at least the ones I personally grow): They can handle lower humidity than people say they can. Crispy bits on your anthuriums is way more likely to be a watering issue than a humidity issue - They’re just a lot thirstier than most aroids!

I love my plants, but I've had it with Aroids.

Either they grow poorly or go tits up.

Part of taking care of plants today is trying to fill out most to all of my tracking spreadsheet. Will include data on names/families; preferred and/or actual/last: location, humidity, light, soil, fertilizing, repotting; plus other notes. This could take a minute or two 😅

I technically have a lot of different plants, but also like. Most of them are aroids. Idk, I just think aroids are the ideal plants. I do also want more caudex plants though,,,

Sometimes you have a beautiful indoor garden full of lush philodendrons and other aroids and then you have a mental health problem and you kill everything except your most hardy succulents and things in your super humid grow out bin. Hopefully I \ we can get back on routine. #Thestateoftheworld

Also, everyone and their dad loves monsteras, and that includes me. Also pothos. And fucking, anthuriums,,,,,Honestly aroids are just amazing

Forever grateful that there are so many cool philodendrons out there. Definitely one of my favourite aroid genuses (I love all aroids but still)

Remusatia vivipara is an epiphytic/lithophytic aroid with bubils (shown here, magnified) that have recurved tips, forming little burs that catch on passing animals. Epizoochory is very rare among epiphytes and even rarer among aroids! #aroid #Araceae #epizoochory #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

She’s the only plant out of this family I own. Very, very different from all my other guys (who are mostly aroids). Idk, sometimes I like the guys that are a little different

My miniature Amorphophallus is flowering. I divided my plant in June and I think it liked it. I've got a few more of these with buds too. Amorphophallus myosuroides #Amorphophallus #houseplants #aroids #plantsky

I can't keep succulents alive (I'm practicing) but my aroids are doing silly good
They say plants are good for anxiety and for the most part they are, except when they die for no real reason
July 31, 2026 at 1:12 PM
I knowww, I’m so sad :( I’ve just elected to not get any succulents since they evidently don’t thrive here no matter what I do. I can’t get a dehumidifier for them unfortunately, since all my aroids love humidity :(
