My first contribution to #PoetsOfDoom #Arsapoetica contains instructions, and an origin story for my own form of Sonnet which I have been working on. Feel free to give it a go yourself

I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains? And so, dissected this once perfect form Restructured it, with brand new shape reborn A potent image brought around again. My pen a scalpel, slicing through the ink I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains? That rhyme scheme too, it might as well be changed Is nothing sacred? What would Shakespeare think? And so, I take this form and make it mine All sparked by one small niggle in my brain I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains That shift; each stanza, downward by one line? I thought, why should not sonnets have refrains? A potent image brought around again.
