Lots of fun festival events, culminating in one of the largest queer events across the world — the Sydney Mardi Gras this Saturday.
Have updated my banner to be this gorgeous image from Alex Cherney of CSIRO’s ASKAP in Pride colours.

A unique celestial object, known as ASKAP J1832–0911, is capturing the attention of astronomers.
Discovered 15,000 ly from Earth, this enigmatic object, located in our galaxy, behaves in a way never seen before.

Hence we discard lots of radio galaxies, like the ones in this ASKAP VAST gallery, compiled by PhD student Surabhi Chandra
Each image shows radio emission from a galaxy with a supermassive black hole at the centre

A research team discovered a 160,000-light-year-long bridge of neutral hydrogen gas (HI) connecting two dwarf galaxies, NGC 4532 and DDO 137.
This thanks to the WALLABY project, which utilizes the ASKAP telescope in Australia.

ASKAP J1832-0911 adı verilen cisim, her 44 dakikada bir, iki dakika boyunca radyo dalgaları ve X ışınları yayıyor.
Aq Akp yetmedi bir de uzaylılarla mı uğraşacağız ?!

Source #15 in this small but growing population.
It repeats every 36 minutes, but despite many observations (see plot) we're not sure what it is.
