#astrosci come celebrate STIS’ 30th birthday!!
Join us in Baltimore in March to celebrate the 30th anniversary (!) of STIS' installation onboard the Hubble Space Telescope. We'll also plan for the future of UV astronomy, including HWO and other UV missions! Abstract submission is open for our spring workshop: www.stsci.edu/contents/eve... #astro

Thinking about this more—5-10x Saturn ring systems are detectable now around nearby stars with STIS… #astrosci
5/5 What does this mean for the Roman Coronagraph & future missions like HWO? Multi-epoch photometry & multi-band observations could help identify ring signatures, and rings may bring otherwise-too-faint planets within reach of detection.

Entering the Era of Circumplanetary Ring Detection with Direct Imaging
Rings are ubiquitous among the giant planets in the Solar System, yet their presence around exoplanets remains observationally unconstrained. As direct imaging missions such as the Nancy Grace Roman S...

Excited to lead some Hubble and (hopefully, if HRC-S starts working again) Chandra observations of this system in the next year! 🔭
NEW: A surprising chemical clue has broken open a Hubble cold case from 1999. Astronomers now suspect the mystery signatures in the data are from a second-generation planet that formed from gas and dust ejected by a dying star: https://news.stsci.edu/46WpciV 🔭
