日本が誇るデスドゥームの巨魁が、結成約30年目に叩き出した最新作。
重く、汚く、Primitiveなリフが中盤テンポで地面を抉り、Tokitaの咆哮が空気を腐らせていく。
AutopsyやAsphyxの血を引いたオールドスクールな死臭と、Coffins特有のぬかるんだ重さが共存してて、聴き終わると部屋の湿度まで上がった気がする。

9月4日のI AM MORBID来日に向けて予習してるんだけど、同日にCOFFINSも出るって知ってからこのアルバムが余計に刺さった。
当日がめっちゃ楽しみすぎる。

[아스픽스 The Asphyx]라는 SF 호러 영화를 보았어요. 빅토리아 시절 영국 과학자가 사람이 죽기 직전을 찍는 실험을 하는데, 그 사진마다 수상쩍은 얼룩이 찍혀 있어요.

처음엔 사람의 영혼이 빠져나가는 줄 알았는데, 아들이 정말 바보 같은 보트 사고로 죽는 현장을 영화로 찍은 과학자는 그 얼룩이 몸에서 빠져나가는 대신 몸을 향해 온다는 사실을 알아내요. 그건 그리스 신화에 나오는 아스픽스라는 존재로 사람이 죽기 직전에 오는 사신과 같은 무언가입니다.
