#AstroImageJ
Huh. A recruiter just approached me on LinkedIn, because one of his clients is looking for people with experience with IRAF/AstroImageJ? Which seems oddly specific.

Processing done in the incredible free software AstroImageJ, a total of 190 images taken with 60sec exposure and gain 100. Analysis of the transit shows the planet is about the size of Jupiter based on the size of the Star which is about 0.5 the size of the Sun.

Working on five and a half years of observations of quasar 3C 273, using open data from LCO Global Obs, AstroImageJ, Peranso and a little bit of Astropy. 🤩Time to read the extensive litterature on this bright and intriguing QSO !

The young Pleiades in all their glory, which I managed to shoot two nights ago using my backyard #Astrophotography 🔭📷 setup. I made a bad attempt at fitting a 100My isochrone over my poorly calibrated data to show this...don't try this at home kids 😇.
@kat-astro-bot.bsky.social, what do you see?

Last night most of the class went through how to process that data using AstroimageJ. One group used the telescope since it was so clear.

That's awesome ! I followed a similar class in France, given by the Côte d'Azur Observatory 😁 And at the end, I observed (6) Hebe during two nights, with three filters ! I even tried to invert the light curves to get a convex profile 😮

Thanks! For this I use Tycho Tracker for getting apparent magnitudes. I also use AstroImageJ, but that doesn't give apparent magnitudes unless you first provide them for your comp stars. I typically use that when I'm working in relative flux like with exoplanet transits.

I did 2 sets of 10 images with Sloan i and g filters. By using TYC2037-1231-1 as a reference star and AstroImageJ for the analysis, I have measured T CrB with a magnitude 8.405+/-0.009 in i and 11.12+/-0.01 in g.
This result has been uploaded into the AAVSO database.

Currently going through tutorials of AstroimageJ for processing exoplanet transits. I'm still applying for #PhDJobs while I work on my projects.

Yes it did the conversion in AstroimageJ, I had a bit of time to run through the processing again, I think it was down to the transit fit parameters, this time it matched up must closer.

What software do you use to calculate magnitude? Tycho tracker, AstroImageJ ? Another ?

OK #astronomy folks. I am learning #AstroImageJ and have run dark subtraction on my sequence. The DP log says it saved the output files and they look fine as they pop up during processing. But when I open them later, they are literally completely black--no counts anywhere.
