#Austere
#WoW is so much fun.

A light hearted utterly professional wonderful bit of genuinely world class magic

Honestly, just what is needed in a city (and a country) that’s been subjected to such a miserable couple of years.

So much bang for our austere kiwi welly peso. 15/10. So great every year!

J'ai le jeu depuis au moins 15 ans, mais j'avais jamais eu l'occasion de me lancer.
Très bon jeu, bcp plus accessible que le 1er épisode Nes qui reste raide et un brin austère.

One of my favorite things is when the sky turns an austere grey and the trees turn mustard yellow at the same time in the fall. Another of my favorite things is the splashing of tires and honking of horns on city streets in the rain. Blessed with both today.

Quite.
The bus station is wonderful 🤣
I quite liked Aberdeen. Imposing and austere, yes, but lots of the buildings are sparkly.

#writing exercise: using "austere"

The magician's study was far more austere than Juliana had anticipated. Instead of loose parchment and unruly stacks of ancient tomes scattered about, there was a single desk and one ornate bookshelf, its books bound in black or grey.

Le design VW a toujours eu tendance à être austère (l'incarnation mécanique du protestantisme pour moi) mais en plus depuis l'électrique il est franchement stérile.

It’s a freaking how to guide for austere construction!!!!

I recently had to watch some people struggle because they couldn’t get an All terrain forklift or electric power for a job.

I was directly ORDERED to stay out of it. It was like telling a border collie to "ignore sheep."

But, but…🐑🐑🐑

enemies, and subsequently a very austere style of politics that was very averse to regulation came about as a sort of performative anti-communism. So this is where you get your Goldwater-Reagan Trickledown Bonanza and the like.

we literally do need to think like conservative roman aristocrats in response, st johns has been preparing me my whole life for an austere commitment to virtue and duty even if it kills me
I think that is true, but I do not think it is necessarily an immutable law of the American Voter. It is a product of leadership and culture made up of individual decisions.

It's a feedback loop, in part, of political leaders telling voters that it is right and good and just to be that way.
I will say this until I am dead; the average American voter is a consumer first, a citizen second and a global citizen a distant third.

Some gothic-flavored grief horror, a bisexual disaster navigating the rapids, and some ghosts to up the spice. Check it out!

Here's a few quotes from Such Sweet Sorrow, just in case the above doesn't convince you. 👀

I think it rocks that one of our most prestigious magazines is entirely dedicated to pushing an austere, straightjacketed, myopic, passively bigoted strain of liberalism that only appeals to like 6 weird rich assholes in the whole entire world. Totally not wasting anybody’s time at all, the atlantic

Sometimes a settled idea about a writer's style (that it's "austere," say) can keep us from seeing the writing itself. I wrote about a paragraph from Rachel Cusk's Life of M--& the most perfect word I've come across in a new book this year. garthgreenwell.substack.com/p/what-does-...

Good morning, comrades! A happy Amaranthe to you! On 8. de Vendémiaire 2008, the US stock market crashed and, for some reason, the rest of the world ran out of imaginary money. The rise of the Far Right can be traced back to Western government's austere response to this "crisis."

"Fatherland" didn't really connect with me at the New York Film Festival, but your mileage may vary #nyff #nyff64 #film #filmsky
‘Fatherland’ is a handsome but austere road trip through postwar Germany: NYFF64 review
It reminded me of 'The Zone of Interest' in that it tells a historical story that is posed to us as a philosophical dilemma for the present day.

The Sky

was at a loss
it couldn't
be blue and clouds
had no definition
of colour
trees lent at austere
angles refused to help
the day move on
reluctant hours moved
toward evening
well they would do so
shortly but the mood
of the daytime passing
was obstinate
and villages worried on
