#AutINSAR A3: eugenics, prenatal testing/embryo selection, "curing" autism in utero or in children because parents hate them; calling eugenics a matter of women's rights like TERFs attack trans people.

Q8: Any topics we’ve missed that you’d like to discuss?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 11:40 AM
Q7: What are some barriers that make autism research results less accessible to #ActuallyAutistic people (cognitive, financial, political etc), and how can we reduce them?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 11:36 AM
Q6: What are some concerns of historically ignored autistic community members that still don’t get enough research attention?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 11:31 AM
Q5: Which co-occurring conditions need more research attention, and why? Are there any conditions once considered co-occurring that you now see as intrinsic to autism, and if so why?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 11:24 AM
Q4: Researchers: How do you think your research (or another researcher’s work) will improve the lives of #ActuallyAutistic people who are already here—as opposed to autistic people in future generations?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 11:13 AM
Q3: What concerns do you have about the directions in which autism research is headed, based on work presented at #INSAR2026, or in general? What current research do you find most intriguing?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 11:05 AM
Q2: Which topics do #ActuallyAutistic people discuss that are missing from research conversations?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 10:55 AM
And now to the questions. We have less than an hour, and we have eight questions. We'll be going quickly, but you can answer on Bluesky in your own time.

Q1: What are your top three priorities for autism research?

#AutINSAR #INSAR2026
April 25, 2026 at 10:50 AM
If you can, please include the #AutINSAR question number in your response to help us track answers more easily for our AutINSAR round up. So if you are answering Question 1 your reply can look like this:

"Q1: I think we needed more cats at #INSAR2026, maybe we can have a kitten room at #INSAR2027?"

So, a warm welcome and please introduce yourself. We'll get to the #AutINSAR questions shortly. I'm Shannon Des Roches Rosa @shannonrosa.bsky.social, senior editor at Thinking Person's Guide to Autism. I'm here at #INSAR2026 with my co-editor Carol Greenburg @autisticenough.bsky.social.

We're grateful that you are participating, as while autistic interests and autistic researchers are increasingly present at #INSAR2026, they are still not fully centered. And if you are a researcher, #AutINSAR can help guide you towards topics that help existing #ActuallyAutistic people. #INSAR2026
