#Authoritanism
Some of you might've seen me mention in Onsta's chat that I have a special bond with Brasil, although I'm not from there. Today, my heart and soul is rooting for them in yet another election where right wing authoritanism is threatening to gain power. Hate will not prevail. Viva Lula. Viva o Brasil!

"We will re-educate you, and you'll love Russia, have children and be an obedient wife" is the most scary sentence in this interview with Flores, who have fled Russia.

We are in a battle between patriarchal authoritanism and liberal, progressive rule of law.

alex karp, the founder of palantir freaked out at the increasing amount of post literacy and realised that if nothing happened humans would devolve into authoritanism driven by technology and decided to create a global panopticon to ensure it never happens. however gods did his neurosis fuck it up

URSS did claim it was communist, but today's Russia?🤔 As far as I know they don't claim that anymore, and do a lot of anti-communist discourse about how bad it was on soviet days (because of Authoritanism, but 🤷🏻).
(I do agree with your train, except for this detail)

Yes. It's long been a problem where people (mainly men) prefer authoritanism to annoyance.

I think it's a primal (and toxic) masculine notion (of losers) that physically weaker women shouldn't be able to offend them. Of course, they ignore superior men as competitors.

I think that gender authoritanism is why they’re *indifferent* to the burden on parents working outside the home, but the idea that it’s the true motive implies they secretly understand the medical rationale is nonsense. I think at this point it’s fair to presume they’re genuinely stupid.
The obvious goal of "spacing them out" is twofold:

1) Killing and hurting children, especially those from lower-income families who struggle to make doctor's appointments.

2) Punishing women with jobs by making it even harder to balance work with taking care of kids.

😂 though McDonald's only has four gras in Budapest. Maybe that's why he supported Orban. Or the Russia supporting authoritanism. One or the other.

... surprising those people choose authoritanism, specially as we are diving into a climate & biodiversity collapse & times are unsafe & scary. We need to find a way to tell the stories of common people & groups acting together & saving themselves. So that we will.

Every WW2 movie that depicted the horrors of fascism and the great sacrafice so many made around the world to stop it.

Also, Star Wars, Star Trek and every other show that depicts the horrors of authoritanism.

From the point of view of South America, the USA SUPPORTS fascism & authoritanism, & hates when we have democratic governments. My fear on the election this year in Brasil are mostly about how much USA will try to interfere & if our institutions can face it.

The only conclusion I can have is that he didn't take the temperature of his own constituency before he was leader and then PM, and thst he and many of his advisors and senior MP spent their time playing politics and being on Twitter. That skewed their vision massively towards authoritanism.

all states are aligned with capitalism, giving them more power and control should be the most obvious thing not to do. Justifying authoritanism anwhere, justifies it everywhere. Israel is the epicenter of western violence, and you want to increase its military might.

@futurebird

I think the only consistency with fascism is that there's always a leader to glorify and someone you are told to hate.

Historically, when looking at all the purges and paranoia, authoritanism hasn't been very stable even for the in-group. It's what you get when a group of greedy […]

Hate legislation = shit policy
FOI inaccessibility & cost = shit policy
AUKUS = shit policy
Deference to the USA = shit policy
Authoritanism in any form = shit policy
Failure to protect whistle-blowers = shit policy
Kowtowing to #Zionists = shit policy.
ALP wasn't voted 1 by me last time.

Your take on authoritanism seems not to acknowledge two aspects of the current system: One is chaotic driving behavior, or lack of discipline. That is an issue which can be relatively easily addressed.

Of courses, that engages the tyranny of the state.
whenever i meet a libertarian, i ask them if they stop at red lights and, if so, why they choose to bow to the tyranny of the state

It's also been less than 100 years since we were involved in a world war to fight authoritanism/fascism.

We just brought both back. Humans have an innate ability to forget the past, which is why we are doomed to repeat history.

Yep. Privileged kids upset at their Republican parents. Their anti-authoritanism is against their parents that’s why so much of what they do and their politics seems so juvenile—throwing tantrums—because they really are like young kids acting out.

Representation can also be of a colleague or a fellow member of an elected body. That person would have to represent the decisions of the collective, not just their own opinions, as with politicians, and should be recalled and replaced if they don't. This is also a repellant against authoritanism.
