My grandmother paid for me to take BarBri. I showed up to the first 3 days of classes, couldn't deal with how stressed everybody was, and never went back.

Not to mention having to travel for multiple days just to sit the exam 🫠
(I skipped BarBri and prepped with materials borrowed from various hookups and libraries; it still cost me a cool $1k to register for and get to the actual test; the gates were up)

The bar exam tests you on whether you are able to take a few months to do nothing but shove useless facts in your head, and pay $10K (probably more now) to a bar exam prep company. It is highly discriminatory.

And they probably paid thousand of dollars not only counting the exam fees but for bar prep and a hotel room as well. And the bar prep will go out of their heads by the time February roles around so they'll likely have to fork more money over to Barbri or whoever again.

I despaired, but I had no other choice but to soldier on through the practice court program. And I did pass, and then pass the bar (which I did BarBri for during my last practice court quarter). But it soured me on the whole experience.

I'd like to see free test prep courses offered to whoever wants one, but BarBri et al. will want somebody to foot the bill, and while it'd be cool if WSBA/NCBE did so, see above re: "how much $ do those orgs actually have" (vs. how much will they *pretend* to have no $ so as to avoid accountability)
