there has been precisely zero minutes since several months before the 2022 invasion where the US, UK, Ukraine, and every major EU country wasn't devoting large teams of diplomats to trying to resolve it. The thing that can move the needle on peace is making sure Russia stops seeing it as winnable.

It genuinely sounds like Canada got the best deal that the United States was willing to offer. But, from the leaks of the draft texts, it looks like a plainly bad deal Ottawa should not accept.
