At the end of the clip, after Emmer’s ridiculous, easily challenged answer:

KARL: “Let’s turn to the midterms…”

Beltway reporters are more afraid of asking follow-up questions than Mister Mxyzptlk is of saying his name backwards.
KARL: This idea of livestreaming an execution -- US Catholic Bishops called it 'a barbaric promotion of culture of death.' Are you in favor?

EMMER: I'm so happy we have a president who will make a decision in the best interest of the people. He will hold the criminals and terrorists accountable.

Some ~personal~ news:
After five years, I have been laid off from @the-independent.com. I am grateful for the time I have had there. With that in mind, I am absolutely looking for new work opportunities, especially ahead if the midterms. My email is EMGarcia2009@gmail.com. My signal is emgarcia.85

The irony is there is very much a Beltway establishment and they've always loathed the Clintons for being upjumped provincials, and they figured out the best way to attack them was to convince the other upjumped provincials that they were the Beltway establishment.
Also the Clintons were seem as young outsiders shaking up the establishment in Washington

It truly is just the latest example of how people inside the beltway think this is all a grand game, where their words and rhetoric are just turns of a political version of Risk.

The park and rides (Metropark, New Carrollton (fka Capital Beltway), Route 128, etc) all get crazy ridership from suburbanites.

Excuse me, it’s not corruption, it’s “norm breaking” as I’m told by the Beltway media

a lot of the people who dont like her pay attention to beltway stuff. average dem who doesnt pay attention to that just went 'welp. guess shes the nominee. she seems alright i guess.' and then solidified feeling positively about her by actually casting a ballot.

10:30pm Sunday: Radar shows much of the area in and around the Beltway in a bit of a lull right now. But more showers and possibly some downpours to come overnight before we dry out tomorrow.

Get ready for your week with our full forecast at capitalweather.com and the Capital Weather app.

Beltway folks got busy
NEW: Virginia Gov. Abigail Spanberger just revealed stunning early voting numbers ahead of the midterms.

450,000 Virginians have ALREADY voted, compared to just over 200,000 at this point in 2022.

Fun times at the con man controlled beltway saloon. No sheriff in town?
Sen. Chris Murphy: "Right now members of Congress are being denied the ability to see the damage at these bases because there's a coverup underway. There's a coverup underway to try to hide the cost of this war and the debacle it has caused in the region."

i think that's a direct consequence of the favor-trading mechanism under which the beltway in general and the democratic party in particular operates. you simply cannot upset anyone whose favors you need to call in when you need to win an election or get a bill passed

Lindsey's only legacy is a few sad bar owners and gay escorts in the DC Beltway and Charleston.

Except the Parkway and 66 are perpendicular, so they’re not really alternatives except to get to the Beltway at some very specific points.

Perhaps John Solomon — who I’ve long described as the bad penny of the Beltway press, b/c he keeps turning up — would lack some credibility in propagandizing for Trump if mainstream orgs, like WaPo and AP, hadn’t platformed his shoddy work for the sake of appearing balanced.

Isaias left quite a soggy footprint across the DC region.

Rainfall totals reached 1 to 3" across much of the area, with up to 5" in the mountains. The soaking helped ease drought conditions, but longer-term rainfall deficits remain.

See how much fell where: www.capitalweather.com/isaias-soake...
Isaias soaked the DC area. Here's how much rain fell
The heaviest rain fell west of the Beltway and in the mountains, providing additional drought relief even as longer-term rainfall deficits persist.

Oh, and one last thing, for God's sake, rename the "Impoundment Control Act." Very few humans outside of the DC beltway know what the heck that is.
