Former chancellor Rachel Reeves has said she believes Britain should rejoin the EU as Brexit has made the country “poorer, weaker and less secure”.

Brexit can no longer be the unspeakable subject.

At the jazz pub last night the trumpeter asked the audience to ‘remain’ during intermission and a group of older attendees started booing and chanting BREXIT BREXIT BREXIT and I think jazz should be gatekept more thoroughly

Excellent point by @racheltaylormp.bsky.social.

Many people in her constituency voted for Brexit, but now regret their choice. They were never told the truth about what Brexit actually meant, and now realise that leaving the EU was a disaster.

Another welcome injection of reality on the whole Brexit farce. And also good to be finally talking about the ruinous mess it’s made, in a world that’s moved on without us and become more predictably dangerous too. But this does make those Labour red lines seem very stupid indeed.

She just described 5 million EU citizens getting the right to stay after Brexit as a "consequence" of Brexit. As if they hadn't been living here, with families, and jobs, studying. Disgusting language.

Badenoch and Farage don’t want
us to talk about Brexit because it’s a shitshow. Their shitshow. They don’t want to be held responsible for the damage they’ve done or face up to how to fix it.
They talk about “Brexit betrayal” but the betrayal is Brexit itself.
