it gets so much goddamn worse. every single apple Container folder contains symlinks to the same 12.2 GB worth of system files - half of which is a DVD I ripped, the other half are copies of my Music and Downloads folders. it has just progressively filled 1 TB of space with 68 identical folders.
QDirStat results: 95.9% of Backupdrive is occupied by the folder /weasel/Library/Containers, in which every subfolder takes 12.2 GB. The grid view shows 68 identical copies of that folder, filling a combined 829.6 GB.
