Honoured to visit Derry with @bloodysundaytrust.bsky.social for the 15th anniversary of the Saville Report.

We remember the 14 unarmed civil rights activists murdered on Bloody Sunday & stand with all fighting for truth from Ballymurphy to Rafah.

One world. One struggle. Until we are all free.

Have you heard of Ballymurphy or Bloody Sunday?. Or the countless other crimes committed by British security forces. You have been there for a long time.

People in Derry and Ballymurphy are not at all shocked by these revelations.

Second in Command when the Paras murdered all those civilians on Bloody Sunday and present for the Ballymurphy Massacre too. Two things I suspect the obits in the UK press will omit.

At the annual "pattern" (a blessing of the graves) in Ballymurphy. Everyone spruces up the graveyard, then chats around the headstones, then home for tea. Inevitably, at the foot of Mt Leinster, wind and rain has driven most into the church. I'll stick with the old boy awhile.

Same thing with the Troubles here in Northern Ireland.

There was violence beforehand (kind of goes with apartheid states) but the British Army massacring civil rights protestors in Bloody Sunday and the Ballymurphy Massacre galvanized everyone and exploded the conflict into war.

My sister in law in Ballymurphy Belfast used to call the British Army Parachute soldiers,Big Brave Bastards.Same applies here

It took decades for the truth about the Ballymurphy massacre and Blood Sunday to be 'revealed' - still too many secrets hidden. False narratives besmirching people's memory.

Ballymurphy and Derry both committed by the same unit and there'll never be justice.

I'm from Northern Ireland. I feel like there could be a Bloody Sunday or Ballymurphy in Minneapolis imminently. ICE and friends are even more stupid and trigger-happy than 1 PARA of the 1970s.

Mike Jackson remarkably communicated that the civilians killed under his watch in Ballymurphy were terrorists, he was an auld cunt
Saddened tonight to learn that Gen Sir Mike Jackson has died. He was a remarkable communicator with a fierce intellect. During the operation to secure Kosovo he took me into his confidence many times, and a friendship grew out of that. Sending condolences to his wife and family

I think their main takeaway is probably fewer Bloody Sundays and more operations like The Ballymurphy Massacre, where the lack of news media and external observers allowed the military to slaughter citizens without scrutiny.
